Downtime and Silver Linings

Loosen your bone, Wilma.

This was the quote on my calendar yesterday, “Loosen your bone, Wilma.”

This reference to Wilma from the cartoon, The Flintstones, was quite fitting as I was heading off for a short get-away to “loosen up.” A little change of scenery helps to refresh the mind, body, and spirit. I like to spend some time outdoors hiking.

After five months in Illinois, I’m flying driving to California Michigan. Wow, pandemic really changed my planning, lol, although the hiking part remains the same.

I make a point of spending a lot of time outdoors. If you’d like to share in my adventures feel free to look up my Instagram page, @chihikercara.

Finding the Silver Lining

team meeting on Zoom

The discussion question in a recent networking group meeting was, “What has been a silver-lining to the time in shut-down?”

As our lives were forced to ‘loosen up’ in March there has been some good to come from it. A silver-lining for me has been changing my mindset on many things professionally and personally.

Last Friday, we held our quarterly Bridging professional educational meeting virtually. The case study we discussed was video-taped prior to the Zoom call. Although we love to see each other in person, this discussion format turned out to be a great way to learn! Loosening up our precepts allowed for this new opportunity.

Virtual client sessions were also borne out of corona-virus times. They have been a great alternative for people out of the area, or for whom an office visit is too risky right now. Being able to help people in new ways has been wonderful.

I personally have had to shift my paradigm to re-think what is possible. I enjoy travel and hiking in the western states. My new outlook has allowed for new adventures by finding new trails and even new sections of familiar trails. It works!

What has been your Silver Lining from the months at home?

What about for you? I’d love to hear what shifts you’ve made and how you are keeping active.

Our goal at Kinetic Konnections is to keep your body optimally organized to stay active in the ways you enjoy. Get out there and enjoy the rest of the summer!
