William’s Story

What prompted you to seek help?

My son was born with Craniosynostosis, meaning the plates in his skull were fused together and would cause pressure on his brain as he grew. He had surgery, cutting openings in his head to allow for future growth.

Although our Doctor hadn’t told us that he was behind developmentally yet, he is my first child and I really wanted to make sure he was on track. I knew Lynne and I was telling her that my son hadn’t rolled or really moved at all since the surgery and she suggested we bring him in. He was seven months old at that time.

What unique insight did Kinetic Konnections have?             

I explained some of his history, including several bouts of bronchitis and RSV. The birth event itself caused some trauma because his skull was fused– it took me 4 hours to push him out, resulting in a major bruise on the back of his head. All of this and the surgery made him such a fussy baby. He struggled to go down for naps.

Lynne found Wiliam’s sleep challenges seemed to be related to his ability to relax and breath deeply. Before surgery – he had what’s called baby bronchitis. He also had a lot of respiratory issues after surgery. The surgery was a couple of hours so he had a breathing tube. She explained that anyone, especially babies, can have breathing issues after the mechanical breathing. We had used inhalers and nebulizers to help him breathe post surgery. After the Bridging^® session he can breathe fine now, and no more bronchitis.

What Changed?

 Before the surgery he was a very active baby. After the surgery, he stopped rolling and moving at all. After seeing Lynne, he started rolling, moving better, and eventually sitting up. We came every other week for 2 months, then once a month. He was wound up tight just sitting there and she helped him so he could roll, use both arms evenly, and crawl. Which was huge. He is so much happier to be moving around.

He has now made most of his physical milestones. He is one and a half now and doing fine. We have seen Lynne six times and in the last visit he was walking and chatting.
